Year 10 pupils sat religious studies and 60% of all grades achieved were at 9-7. All Year 9 pupils sat their entry level certificate in computer science, with 95% obtaining a pass and 33% of those awarded the highest grade.

We are hugely proud of the results of our boarders, many of whom joined in Year 11. The Royal School attracts pupils from across the globe, providing language support to those for whom English is a second language.

Johnson Y, an international student from China who joined us in Year 11, demonstrated his resilience and adaptability by obtaining one grade 9 and two grade 8s in his GCSEs. Alison O also joined in Y11 from overseas, having not followed any GCSE syllabus in her previous school. Alison obtained 6 GCSEs at grades 9-4.

Mr Matthew Close, Headmaster, noted that “This is a very impressive set of results and I am delighted for our pupils and very proud of them. They have achieved these results on top of their many co-curricular activities, that are so important in ensuring that they have develop intellectually, emotionally and practically to be Future Ready.”

Pupil, Robin L commented, “Over the years, I have become attached to many of my teachers who have always been so helpful. French was my favourite subject and Mrs Henbury was always there for me when I needed her. I liked the relaxed learning style which really helped me to learn. I found some of the topics in ‘Future Ready’ very useful especially careers testing and a Dragons’ Den-style business presenting course we did which was really good!”
