Underpinning all that we do are our school’s guiding principles, derived from the vision our founders set in 1840.
Guiding Principles
Self-Respect
We view self-respect as having a healthy regard for your character, values, and dignity. We see it as is the everyday discipline of loving who you are. We want our pupils to acknowledge what is good for their own well-being, to be confident, ambitious and disciplined in their behaviour.
GUIDING PRINCIPLES
Social Justice
The Royal School believes in one's responsibility to care for others for the common good of society. Kindness is the norm. We act with humility, have respect for others and are encouraged to use our voice. We care for the sustainable use of our planet, acknowledging it is our duty to leave it in a better place than we found it.
Shaping Your Dreams
Through our modern interpretation of the School’s motto, Per Aspera Ad Astra, we challenge our pupils and staff to reach for the stars. We dare them to take a chance to believe that their dream is something more than a thought or possibility. In this, we encourage creativity, flexibility of thought and action, curiosity and embracing life-long learning.
