We want our pupils to be ready for life after school. Keeping up isn’t enough. You must be ahead of the curve. Learning, growing and anticipating change are key.
DISCOVER MORE
Education doesn’t exist in a vacuum. Lessons learnt at The Royal are as much about how we learn and what it takes to achieve a goal, they go beyond objectives on a board in the classroom. Outstanding pastoral care and an enriching curriculum in and outside the classroom is a powerful combination in pupils happiness and success.
The start of Year 12 is a transformative stage of education. We have expert post-16 teachers who work with their students to ensure a personalised A Level learning experience.
The Royal has a long history of welcoming UK boarders and expat families, as well as international students. Our inclusive and dynamic approach to boarding means Year 7 to Year 13 pupils can take advantage of our flexi, weekly or full-time boarding allowing them to develop their strengths and their sense of independence.

Merger

The Royal School welcomed boys and became a co-educational school. The aim of the school has always been to deliver a first class education in a vibrant and caring environment, where pupils become confident, successful and compassionate young people with qualities and qualifications that enable them to excel in their adult lives.
United Learning
2019
The Royal School joined United Learning which is a group of schools operating both in the independent and maintained sectors and which is, itself, a charitable trust dating back to the late 19th Century.
