Admissions Process

At The Royal School we aim to make the admissions process as friendly and relaxed as it can be. Each stage is outlined below. We maintain regular contact with applicants to ensure you are kept up-to-date.

REGISTRATION FOR SEPTEMBER 2023 AND BEYOND IS OPEN, simply complete the online Registration Form and transfer the non-refundable registration fee (£100 for UK Day/UK Boarders, £200 for International Day/International Boarders) to the School Account using the bank details on the form.

ENTRY INTO OTHER YEAR GROUPS & IN YEAR ENTRY
Please contact the Admissions Team to check availability in the relevant year group before applying, email admissions@royal.surrey.sch.uk. Candidates applying outside of standard entry points are required to sit an age-appropriate assessment in Maths & English and have an informal interview with a member of the Senior Leadership Team.

As part of the admissions process, once your child is registered with us, we will contact their current school to request a confidential reference.

Our Admissions team offer weekday Talk & Tours, to book simply contact our admissions team.

Register your child

Once you have finalised your decision we will ask you to complete our registration form and pay the registration fee (£100 for UK Day/UK Boarders, £200 for International Day/International Boarders). Our Admissions Team is available by telephone or email to answer any further questions you may have. Following your registration, we will keep in touch with you throughout the admissions process.

Reference & Reports

As part of the admissions process, once your child is registered with us, we will contact their current school to request a confidential reference.

Assessment, Interview & Taster

We hold assessment days for entry to the Senior School in November prior to the year of entry. For Prep School applicants, we offer regular two-day taster visits (including assessments in Mathematics and English).

Offer letter, acceptance and deposit

To secure your child's place, simply complete and return the acceptance paperwork and acceptance refundable deposit of £750 by the deadline given.

Onboarding & Induction

Once a place has been accepted, the admissions team will provide you with details of upcoming induction days and events to support your child's transition into The Royal. Transition events take place in the Summer Term.
