A warm & inclusive community

As a boarder at The Royal you are part of a tight-knit community, where local and international pupils feel equally at home and enjoy each other's company in our vibrant and buzzing house. Our Head of Boarding, Mrs Bartlett-Rawlings and her team make sure that you feel happy and at home when you are here. There is always someone to talk to, whether you need help in your academic studies or just a listening ear. The fun and fulfilling schedule of activities and trips means you gain all sorts of experiences that are enriching and make for an unforgettable boarding experience.

No 'compulsory' exeat weekends

At The Royal, we take the cost and worry of going to guardians for exeats out of the picture. We remain open and buzzing with activities throughout the term. This is a unique offering and popular with parents and pupils alike.

Boarders have the choice to stay with us over the weekends (except holidays and half terms) to enjoy a range of activities lead by our experienced Head of Boarding.
