• Senior School

At The Royal School we have long understood that emotional security is an essential pre-requisite of effective learning. The friendliness of our environment is constantly mentioned by visitors to the School, and by those who join us from other schools.

Everyone finds personal fulfilment in our supportive pastoral environment and in our vibrant extra-curricular programme. Success in any sphere creates self belief and a positive attitude which enables the maximum academic progress to occur. This is demonstrated year after year in our excellent public examination results.

  • Over a third of girls achieved A* - B in GCSE exams summer 2011
  • Top 5 girls’ school in Surrey for GCSE results (A*-C including Maths & English)
  • The Royal School has been in the top 2% for value-added education since 2003

Diamond teaching model:

The Royal School is the only school in Surrey to follow the ‘diamond teaching model’, which came into practice in September 2011 at the Junior School and is the first step towards opening a boys’ senior school.

Young people are generally entering a challenging stage of development from Year 7 and they are helped by sharing with their peers who are experiencing similar changes and issues. Where girls and boys are taught separately positive peer influence can replace negative peer pressure.

Added value:

  • Clear academic focus and emphasis on pastoral care, good conduct and discipline
  • A friendly, nurturing and safe school environment enabling all to excel in the classroom and on the sports field
  • A thriving extra-curricular programme
  • An extended day for those who need to drop off earlier or pick up later
  • A dedicated careers advisor experienced in UCAS applications and life beyond school
