THE BOARDERS GO TUBING

THE BOARDERS GO TUBING

On Monday last week Miss Plane told us that were going tubing at the weekend. I was quite intrigued by this as I had never been tubing before and didn't know what it was. One of my friends told me that tubing involved sitting on a "donut" and sliding down from the top of a large slope. I thought this sounded really exciting and encouraged my friends to go even though, as Year 11s, we are excused from weekend activities! On Saturday we put on our long sleeve jackets and trousers in order to protect ourselves from injuries. It was a lovely day and the sun was shining, and after a long drive - it took nearly an hour - we arrived at the Alpine Centre and saw many children playing there! My head is big so the staff spent a long time choosing a helmet for me! Then we went out to the slope and it looked scary. To be honest I was a little bit afraid of it. We pulled the "donuts" to the top of the slope, then sat inside, held the handles and finally, rushed down! It was fast and the wind blew water drops from the floor on my face. It was very exciting and we all screamed loudly. We went up again and again and created different ways to play - going backwards, holding hands together, etc. We had great fun! At lunch time we ate burgers, chips, chicken nuggets and many different kinds of food. They were delicious! We also sang Happy Birthday to Nancy. It was a fabulous day!
