• Welcome to the royal school

The Royal School is the only school in Surrey to follow the diamond teaching model'.  (Read More)

This means co-education at the youngest ages, single sex through the Prep department to GCSEs then a co-educational Sixth Form.

We are a mixed ability, non selective school providing an education that results in confident, independent, adventurous children whose qualities and qualifications enable them to excel.

Our environment delivers results:

A Level results A* - A 44.3% (national average 26.6%).  GCSE 53% A* - A (national average 22.4%). The Royal School congratulates its Upper Sixth and Year 11 students on these outstanding results. We have the complete ability range at The Royal School and these results reflect exceptional success.

How do we achieve such great results with a mixed ability intake?  We believe the route to healthy self-esteem is through personal success and recognition, whether this occurs in the classroom, on the sports field, or in social service, art, music or drama. Our excellent teaching, differentiated to suit all abilities, combined with a busy extra-curricular programme that offers the opportunity for personal fulfilment, results in confident, engaged learners.

'We considered and looked at other schools but my wife and I were immediately drawn towards The Royal largely due to your personal involvement, interest and your appreciation of our daughter as an individual. Our talk with Mrs Taylor-Gooby was enlightening and interesting and we can see why The Royal has an increasing number of applicants.' Mr A Widgery
