• French cheese tasting for Reception

Du pain, du vin et du Boursin! (Well, no wine, obviously!)

In their French class with Madame Hayward Reception had the choice of tasting four French fromages: du camembert, du fromage de Chèvre, du Saint Agur et, pour finir, du Boursin. The cheeses were accompanied by some pieces of baguette.  The children were told that there are more than 500 different cheeses in France and which are considered to be the 10 best; such as Roquefort, Reblochon, etc…  They were also shown a French cheese knife and had to spot it in a worksheet.  The children were asked to name their favourite cheese and could help themselves to seconds using the cheese knife.  Mrs Causton had a taste too!  Katie, Ben and Chloe liked the camembert best.  Henry liked the Fromage de Chèvre best and Emma and Gracie really liked the Boursin.
