Daycare Provision

The School’s affirmative ethos permeates Daycare to provide a secure foundation for learning and development opportunities which are planned around the needs and interests of each individual child. Daycare is split into two groups, Optimists and Nippers, differentiated by age.

Each child in Daycare is given a Key Person. The Key Person ensures the needs of the child are met and that the child feels confident and safe at all times. These principles form the basis of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) which focuses on four key areas:

  • The Unique Child
  • Positive Relationships
  • Enabling Environments
  • Learning and Development

We provide daily adult-led activities for the children in our care. A child’s Key Person will provide suitable play-based activities which focus on his/her current stage of development based around the seven areas of learning within the EYFS:

  • Communication and language
  • Physical development
  • Personal, social and emotional development
  • Literacy
  • Mathematics
  • Understanding the world
  • Expressive arts and design
